Becoming a Cancer Journey Coach: A Personal Journey – Part 1

by Guest Blogger, Dennis Disbot

Over the next 10 months, I’ll be sharing my experience as a student in this year’s Certified Cancer Journey Coach Training Program. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share the magic that arises. I’m thrilled to be learning the tools that helped my family and I survive cancer with grace, and authenticity.

Trusting the process was incredibly hard throughout my cancer journey. There were times I felt hopelessness. Having a coach to bring me back to the present, and compassionately guide me to design my own dreams, was a deeply transformative process. I’ve come to realize that cancer is a journey of soulful transformation. That I am now working towards a certification that is preparing me to become a Cancer Journey Coach for others is extraordinary.

At the opening weekend training, the leaders shared that a major aspect of Cancer Journey Coaching is, “the client feeding their dreams.” Wow, I thought, how exciting I get to be part of this. Our clients are so resourceful! Their main ally is their own intuition. Incredible.
