An interview with Melanie:

What inspires you to get up in the morning? So many things inspire me to get up in the morning. The start of a new day is a true blessing I don’t take for granted. It is my happiest time of day as it’s filled with new starts and a ton of possibilities. My family and my dogs are main drivers of my motivation and I can cheer on the morning without caffeine!

What are you scared of? For me, fear is equivalent to a lack of faith. If I find myself afraid of something, I work through understanding the ‘why’ behind the fear. Many times I’m able to reconcile the rationale behind the ‘why,’ but sometimes not. At the end of the day, faith is the thing. If I attest to being a faithful servant leader, then I have to embrace all that it means.

People often underestimate the power of . . . People often underestimate the power of a spoken word. When used to uplift, words are safe cradles. They can imbue gratitude, kindness and humility if done right!

I am in my power when . . . I am in my power when I am in a space where people I love-and who love me- are situated.

If you could have one super power, what would you choose? Time Travel would be my superpower. I don’t necessarily want to travel to the future, but I’d love to revisit the past and specifically my family. My Grandparents and other ancestors are those at the top of my list. What was their life like? Who did they interact with who shaped their lives and tangentially shaped mine?
