Shelyna Khalfan

Shelyna Khalfan is a breast cancer thriver, Certified Cancer Journey Coach and Registered Occupational Therapist. Prior to her own personal diagnosis, Shelyna worked with patients with cancer to help them maximize their physical health and well being. In 2008, she became a caregiver and advocate for her parents during their cancer treatment. In 2017, at the age of 43, Shelyna’s life came to a halt when she was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer and underwent chemotherapy, surgery and radiation. During her treatment, she held onto a fear that gripped her – would she live long enough to see her three young children grow up to adulthood?
After 10 months, Shelyna completed her treatment but found herself struggling to return to normalcy. She felt she had changed inwardly, but was not sure how. After learning about The Cancer Journey Institute, she completed the Fundamentals of Cancer Coaching program and the International Certification of Cancer Journey Coaching. These programs supported her own personal healing and helped her accept her new, post- cancer self. Using a variety of proprietary maps, models and tools, Shelyna is committed to empowering women to gain meaning from their cancer and life experience. She is determined to use her experiences and skills to help women overcome their fears and live life with purpose and intention.

What inspires you to get up in the morning? Connecting with others and practicing gratitude for life and all that it has to offer
What are you scared of? Being too serious and not enjoying life with my family and friends.
People often underestimate the power of . . . themselves. I know first hand, its easy for us to minimize
ourselves and to resist standing in our own grace.
I am in my power when . . . I am myself, leaning from my heart space, and embracing myself fully.
If you could have one super power, what would you choose? Travel (in the universe and not be limited by time or space)
