Rev. McClanahan is a life member of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church. She has been active in the church as a youth and as an adult serving in various leadership positions and auxiliaries. She currently attends Murph-Emmanuel AME Church in North Highlands, CA where she leads Our Journey of Hope, a Cancer Care Ministry. She
currently works at Marshall Medical Center as the Grant Writer and Administrator.
Her life can be marked as one of giving and service to God, her church, and her community.

Q: What inspires you to get up in the morning?
A: I’m usually inspired to stay in bed as long as possible. Coffee and my dog are motivators to actually get up. Once I’m up I’m inspired by the beauty of nature and my gratitude to get to live this day.
